April 19, 2009 - Likes it - Great food with organic options. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Great place to watch sports with flat screens everywhere. This pub is also unique in that it focuses and promotes green initiatives.

I was there on Sunday and had the Brunch buffet and let me tell you it was great value for money and very well laid on. My boyfriend had the yam fries and loved them. I will certainly come back again as the food and the ambiance was perfect and we all had a great time.

Great Food, Great Service, Great Digs...Great Pub Recently the F.I.L.E.S. team and friends went to Great Bear Pub to check out the latest Affliction event. So, what did we think? They knocked us out! Great Bear Pub is westcoast entertainment pub and BC liquor store located in the heart of Burnaby just off Kingsway. The interior looks newly renovated and brand spanking new; the décor is a fresh mix of style and with the comfortability you expect in a pub. The menu is delicious, extensive, and consists of standard pub fare with a mix of west coast and fusion cuisine. They have something for everyone. Lastly, Great Bear has an extensive list of top quality wine and beer, both foreign and domestic, and features drink specials every night of the week. Great Bear’s entertainment system is second to none. The sound system is clear and pumping, while the walls are covered with large screen digital televisions. This makes Great Bear an ideal place to check out live music and sporting events. Indeed, this is why Great Bear offers live entertainment six nights a week and features all UFC, Affliction, and Canucks PPV events. This is just the beginning. At Great Bear entertainment is second to none. On Mondays Great Bear has an open mic night hosted by comedian Turban Brown who is recently back from performing in Europe. On Tuesday’s Great Bear hosts an ongoing Music Bingo contest with a grand prize of Whistler accommodations. On Wednesday’s & Thursday’s Great Bear hosts “costume” karoke nights; come dressed like a rock star and win a prize.
